Yes I did!!! And in the meantime, I’m listening to NME’s streaming of the remastered album, and so should you:
Hey, thanks! I am a HUGE Beatles fan so I totally get your McCartney fandom. I had the honor of seeing Paul McCartney live 3 years ago and it was the best concert I’ve seen (apart from the Bowie show :)). Now THAT’S a real rocker right there. Is your icon a pic of you meeting PM?? That’s incredible! How did that happen??
I was at a Bowie concert (oh, how I wish…) and somehow these two friends of mine called me to come backstage before the show started, so I did, and there he was! As usual, whenever I dream of him he’s always Hours Bowie, but this time he was a little scruffier and OH MY GOD SO FUCKING HOT.
I hugged him and kissed him on the cheek (he had a little five-o’clock shadow) and said, “I love you! I didn’t think I’d ever get to hear you sing again!” and he said, “I didn’t think so either”. He was a bit shy.
I hugged him again, then said, “You’re about to do a live concert! how awesome is this?” and he said something like “yeah, it’s great”. I think I managed to sneak another hug and that was pretty much it.
I woke up and felt that sadness you feel when you realize it was only a dream, but then I remembered: I actually DID meet him backstage at his concert, didn’t hug him but IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED (if you wanna read about it, here you go).
I truly respect his need to be private and not perform, god knows he’s worked hard for so long and given us so much, but if he would just come back.. just for once…
Here is His Awesomeness at the BBC Live in 2000, with one of the most gorgeous love songs ever written:
